Episode 5: Making Of "Your News"

Like the last making of, it's full of mistakes and utterly ridiculous. It's like watching monkeys on roller skates. Yes those were some fun times, our head was so big it didn't fit through the door anymore. We were beginning to think that we were TV stars already and started acting like it. It's good to have big hopes and dreams and never stop trying to fulfill them. Many people forget along the way what it is they're fighting for, and so their dreams are lost forever.

Episode 4: Look everyone we're on TV!

As we were in production with the movie, I saw this show on Prima TV called homemade, and you could win a lot of money if your film got voted the most. The theme for that week was "Your News" so what better news than our amazing soon to be launched horror film. I decided to make a behind the scenes preview video of our film production, shot a couple of interviews and came up with this little video. Everyone was excited to appear on camera because they have never been on TV before and neither did I. By the way we didn't win :) but some day we might:

Episode 3: Making Of "Cetatea"

Finally the Making Of for the movie that never came to be is out. It's hilarious! I look back now and see what a crazy bunch we were back then. No one knew their lines correctly and we mostly improvised  so it was a constant chaos, but for our first try I think it's awesome. So without further Ado here it is:

Episode 2: "Cetatea" A Little Big Project!

After that in the summer of 2007 I found use for my SD camera and started making a film with my friends in the neighborhood. We decided to make a full 2 hour horror film named "Cetatea" since no one had ever made a Romanian horror film before. So I got inspired and wrote a script for the movie. I really was dreaming big, I imagined I could make a real cinematic film with my SD camera and my friends. I didn't see things so complicated, it came very easy to me, I had the camera and the actors, I just had to show them exactly what to do and how to play. It was indeed a big dream and I would of conquered it too. Unfortunately we never got to finish it because we didn't last enough as a group. As time passed and we were filming, many of the actors couldn't come any more on set because they didn't have time to go to work/school and film as well. Who knows maybe one day we'll finish it. So all I have since then are two trailers of the movie:

And this is the second trailer for the film I started in 2007 with my friends. Independent film making is really hard in Romania, mostly because you're all on your own. Nobody has the time to help you or even to play in your movie. They have to work all day to make little money to survive in this poor country. People don't have money and money equals time so they don't have the time to be constructive and do something for fun. Anyway maybe some day we'll finish this movie. It had great potential back then because it was the first one of it's kind since there wasn't any Romanian horror film ever made.

Episode 1: In the beginning...

Hello and welcome to the Light Edge Studios Blog. In present we are a developing Film Production and Post Production as well as a VFX and Motion Graphics company in Romania. It is founded by me, Burican Claudiu Alex and Sorin Gabriel Bianu. I guess it all started when I got my first digital camera in 2004, it was a small Kodak camera that took amazing 3.1 megapixel shots, but it filmed very poorly and I needed a big SD card for filming which I didn't have, I only had a 128 Mb SD card back then. Those were the times, at first I would film a whole clip without editing, but with time I learned how to edit with Sony Vegas Pro and how to put many pieces together. Towards the end of 2006 I got a brand new SD camera with mini DVD writing capabilities. I was a big fan of "The Ring" horror series and one day it was so boring that I decided to have some fun and film myself and make a small remake and tribute to the film series. So my first short film was born, it isn't much but for my first try I say it has feeling:
